Mark proposed on Valentine's Day in 2005. He woke me up in the middle of the night with the pooring rain outside and asked me. It was adorable because the first time we said 'i love you' it was the middle of the night with pooring rain outside. I guess he had been waiting weeks to do it, but Tennessee hadn't been getting any rain! He was ready to employ his troops to come to our house at 3am and spray the garden hose on the window, but luckily things didn't have to come to that. Since Mark was deploying to Iraq that August, we went ahead and had an official wedding at Tribble's Chapel of Love in Hopkinsville, Ky on July 8, 2005. We didn't tell our families until after the ceremony. They were so excited. Mark deployed about 5 weeks later.
